Improv-based Workshops are a Bigger Bang For Your Buck

What is applied improv?

Applied Improv draws learning outcomes and lessons from improv and utilizes them for non-theatrical or non-performance application. There’s no performing and participants learn by doing, through a series of exercises, reflections, and improv-based games to teach the essential, yet often overlooked or discarded, communication and listening skills that will consistently improve the quality of your work, home, and social relationships.

What makes applied improv workshops so effective?

There are 3 main factors that make improv-based training so effective:

  1. The subject matter at hand is a system that can be applied to anyone interested or curious about how to be a better communicator, leader, and collaborator - regardless of role, rank, or title.

  2. The supportive, experiential learning environment blends the brain’s natural love for doing with the power of reflection, creating a learning experience that is both deeply memorable and aids in retention and application. Safe environments for trial and error build confidence. Multi-sensory engagement boosts understanding.

  3. It’s way more fun. Have you ever sat in front of a slideshow, taken photos of the slides (that were being read to you aloud, be honest), only to promptly leave the wisdom and application in the room? When things are fun, our brains retain more, we’re more effective in the task at hand, and we create positive connections to the material being taught.

You’ll never see a "trust fall" here. Trust doesn't happen just because you catch someone tipping backward. It requires a unique and specific foundation of tools and understanding of how to consistently support and maintain that environment.

Courtney gives you the building blocks that foster and support trust. You get an unshakable team.

Workshops range from 90 minutes to multiple days to a series over several weeks.

Share the road blocks you’re running into and let’s build core memories that grow an invincible, strong team.

Trainings

Public Speaking can be an area where your team thrives (vs. throws up)

Customized public speaking training and delivery coaching for individuals and groups can be effective while being fun. Based on the same foundation improvisers use onstage to build trust and rapport with their audience, Courtney will teach participants the improvisational mindset to increase their confidence to then connect with their audience. This training is ideal for speakers/future speakers who have an interest in:

  • Letting go of fear

  • Leveraging mistakes, technical errors, and the unexpected to their advantage

  • Minimizing (or even eliminating!) the recovery time when mistakes and the unexpected happen

  • Speaking naturally and effectively to any audience

  • Gaining the audience’s interest

  • Communicating with confidence, letting their competence and personality shine through

Public speaking can be intimidating - you want a facilitator who will meet the learners where they’re at in order to provide lasting and effective training.
